One Day In Your Life
Something about this song from the late King of Pop always makes me lethargic and pretty sentimental. Up to now, it is a favorite selection in my music player. I'm not quite sure if this has something to do with my growing up as a kid in Kamuning, QC where it was always played on our old fashioned Hitachi stereo.
When my friends ask me, "Do you like Michael Jackson?" I always answer, "I'm not a fan. But I like his songs from his Jackson 5 years..." - and that includes Ben, I'll Be There, etc.
Here's the mushy and unapologetically sentimental piece that I love:
One day in your life you'll remember a place
Someone's touching your face
You'll come back and you'll look around you
One day in your life You'll remember the love you found here
You'll remember me somehow
Though you don't need me now I will stay in your heart
And when things fall apart
You'll remember one day...
One day in your life
When you find that you're always waiting
For the love we used to share
Just call my name
And I'll be there (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh...)
You'll remember me somehow
Though you don't need me now I will stay in your heart
And when things fall apart
You'll remember one day...
One day in your life
When you find that you're always longing for the love we used to share
Just call my name And I'll be there (Ohh...)

Thank you for the music, Michael J!

hey don,
i found your blog. a bit embarass pero i'm a fan of Jacko. between me and my hubby, there are 3 CD's sa bahay. i was getting sentimental last week when to my horror, the 70's CD was gone. it has "ben" and "got to be there." now that i have a little girl, i always think of my munchkin when i hear "got to be there."
part of the lyrics:
"Got to be there, got to be there
In the morning
When she says hello to the world
Got to be there, got to be there
Bring her good times
And show her that shes my girl
Oh what a feeling therell be
The moment I know she loves me
cause when I look in her eyes I realize
I need her sharing her world beside me"
but another reason i like michael was hi pro diversity: Black or white
positve change: man in the mirror.
OK, till here and God Bless.
P.S.
i saw bong's SFO vacation. kayo kailanan ang punta ninyo dito sa san francisco?

hi melissa! Oo nga, sa akin naman weird, I was looking for "One Day In Your Life" at the mall near our place and wala akong makita.
passing of an era nga daw yung demise niya. gusto ko talaga siya during his jackson 5 years. and you are right, hi pro diversity talaga siya. i also like his 'heal the world'.
oo, nandiyan si bong and his wife, mariam, for a summer respite. i think the'll go to NY din to watch some broadway shows.
siguro pag malaki-laki na yung bunso ko, we plan on going there. :-)
